Kirkland, WA – Bocada LLC, an award-winning backup reporting and monitoring solution, has announced the release of its ServiceNow integration for CMDB asset management. Organizations currently using ServiceNow CMDB, or actively considering its usage, will now have an automated way to verify that the correct backup behaviors are in place for their entire client set.
The release includes three new reports, offering backup and storage administrators several ways to assess if the proper backup protections are in place. In one report, administrators are able to isolate clients included in the CMDB but not reported in their backup application making it possible for them to identify unprotected clients. A second report shows clients reported in their backup application but not listed in the CMDB, allowing administrators to see potentially decommissioned clients that don’t need protection or clients that should be in production but lack proper documentation. Lastly, administrators are also able to see clients accounted for in both their backup application and the CMDB.
According to Matt Hall, Bocada CEO, the latest release comes as a direct response to customer requests for more automation in their IT operations and backup administration environments. “As enterprise IT organizations ask fewer people to do more, we know that we need to offer them automated ways to incorporate backup oversight into their IT monitoring systems. We have great customer overlap with ServiceNow making it a natural choice as our first of many ITSM integrations.”
