Bocada 11.0 Release

July 19, 2018

Featuring RMAN Backup Reporting & In-Progress Jobs Visibility

Kirkland, WA – Bocada LLC, an award-winning backup reporting and monitoring solution, announces the upcoming general availability of version 11.0. The release will include full backup reporting on Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), in-progress job activity monitoring and reporting, and Spectrum Protect deduplication and Filespace reporting.

“As the demands for greater data protection visibility increase, Bocada is responding by not just expanding upon the already broad list of backup products we support but also enhancing our already rich reporting capabilities,” said Matt Hall, Bocada CEO. “With our latest release, we’re ensuring that customers with complex backup environments are fully prepared to address their real-time backup needs while balancing ongoing compliance and SLA requirements.”

Key new capabilities in this upcoming release include:

RMAN Backup Reporting Bocada now supports reporting on RMAN, offering customers using RMAN the same breadth of reporting under a single-pane that they currently enjoy with 17 other backup software products, including detailed information about backup job successes and failures, storage capacity trends, and SLA compliance.

In-Progress Job Activity Reporting Users can now monitor real-time activities on backup servers, including currently-running jobs, recently-completed jobs, and backups scheduled to run in the near future. This real-time reporting is available for Commvault, Data Protector, NetBackup, Veeam, RMAN and Spectrum Protect.

Spectrum Protect Deduplication Bocada now offers deduplication statistics for Spectrum Protect backups, showing deduplication and compression ratios to provide insight into space-savings across media storage.

Spectrum Protect Filespaces Reporting Users will now have reporting on Spectrum Protect Filespaces, including storage utilization for Filespaces and clients mapped to Filespaces.

Bocada User & Product Activity Tracking Admins can monitor and audit activities by internal users, including report usage, rules usage, and data collection activities.

Server Grouping Backup servers can be assigned into distinct groups, allowing admins to easily isolate and filter servers.

vCenter Detection & Monitoring All users of Bocada now have access to our VM Protection Analysis Report, giving users a way to easily assess if VMs in their environment are properly assigned to backup applications and being backed up successfully.
