Bocada Announces New AWS Protection Analysis Report

The Bocada Team | April 6, 2020

Kirkland, WA – Bocada LLC, an award-winning backup reporting and monitoring automation solution, has announced the release of its newest built-in report, the AWS Protection Analysis Report. Organizations using AWS to spin up cloud resources will now have an automated way to isolate assets not being backed up.

AWS Backup Data ProtectionThe AWS Protection Analysis Report works by reviewing AWS resources and evaluating their protection level based on their last backup date. Using the report’s filtering criteria, users can select resources designated as “protected” or “unprotected.” Protected assets will have a value assigned to their last activity date, indicating the date associated with their most recent snapshot. In contrast, by selecting “unprotected,” the report will pull only those instances with no last backup date, isolating resources that need to be assigned to a backup policy. The report works across AWS services, including EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, EFS, and Storage Gateway, ensuring that organizations enjoy complete oversight no matter which AWS service is in use.

According to Matt Hall, Bocada’s enterprise sales leader, the latest report is a natural extension of existing Bocada automated reporting. “Many of our existing customers find great value in our CMDB and VM Protection Analysis Reports which let admins proactively identify unprotected assets across their environment so they can implement backup safeguards. With so many global MSPs and enterprise IT organizations migrating to AWS for their IT architecture solutions, it is only fitting to give backup and storage teams an automated approach to identify unprotected resources in the same way we’ve done for years with unprotected VMs.”

The AWS Protection Analysis Report will be available in Bocada 20.1.4. To learn more about Bocada’s new AWS Protection Analysis, email us at sales@bocada.com or call +1-425-898-2400.
