As part of the enhancements made to the Prism Policy module, end users of Symantec NetBackup duplication and copying policies now have the ability to view a comprehensive list of job data at the server, policy, client and schedule levels all from a single view.
NetBackup has multiple options to create duplicate copies to different storage and media targets including Vault Option, Multiple Copies in the schedule, Staging Area in the storage unit, and more recently Storage Lifecycle Policies. Bocada Prism SLP reports provide a centralized view of all of these policies, including the ability to identify storage lifecycle initiated backup jobs and their destination media to quickly verify that backup copies were successfully made whether it went to tape or to disk. Additional copies created by disk staging are also captured and reported on with great detail. Trend reports display job successes and failures over the entire lifecycle as connected events, enabling users to see where failures are occurring in that lifecycle.
