Why renew my Bocada Support?
Customers who have a perpetual* license have a separate support renewal agreement that is renewed on a regular interval. Customers with a perpetual license own the units that they have already purchased. It is possible, although not recommended, to use your perpetual units indefinitely, as is, without a support renewal agreement in place, but this is a short term gain for a long term loss.
The Bocada support agreement grants a customer full access to new releases, service packs, and hotfixes for the product line for which you have already purchased a license. Bocada is continually updating our data mining engines to keep pace with the latest releases of the backup products that our customers are using. The Bocada support agreement also enables online access to our Bocada case system and its associated knowledge base and FAQ area. It also provides the customer direct access to Bocada Customer Support (phone and email) to input feature requests, assist with troubleshooting, answer questions, and deliver any necessary development code fixes for your particular installation. Bocada professional services is also only available to customers who have a current Bocada support agreement.
Should a customer decide to allow their support renewal agreement to lapse and later wish to upgrade to the latest release, apply a hot fix or need services, Bocada requires that the customer pay for the lapsed time period plus the current renewal period. Bocada values our customers and their satisfaction. A current support renewal agreement ensures that the customer has everything that they need to ensure continual success.
