Prism Lite provides the functionality of the Health Check Module of the broader Prism platform, enabling IT and MSP users to determine how well the data protection environment is performing, troubleshoot problem areas and understand performance trends. Prism Lite is ideal for SMBs and individual departments needing to better manage backup activities.
The DPSM process begins here with assessments that reveal the true effectiveness of the data protection environment. The Health Check Module gives IT and MSPs immediate visibility into recent and long-term operation of the environment with job trend analysis to determine inconsistencies in backup performance and opportunities for improvement. Customizable dashboards enable the environment to be viewed by geography, department, customer and other options while administrators have the ability to drill-down for problem diagnosis.

Prism Lite is a data protection reporting and troubleshooting solution which provides the ability
to determine the overall health of the data protection environment. With Prism lite, users will be able
to determine how well the data protection environment is performing, can see performance trends over
time and troubleshoot problem areas.
What is the difference between Prism Lite and Prism?
Prism Lite is targeted at smaller organizations (SMBs) or individual departments in large enterprise
organizations that need to better manage their data protection environment. Prism Lite is targeted at
organizations with less than 500 data protection clients in house.
What benefits will Prism Lite customers realize?
Prism Lite provides the equivalent reporting functionality of most data protection management
(aka backup reporting) solutions on the market today. With Prism Lite, customers will be able to see
the success and failures of backups, replicas and recoveries in their environment and trend those over
time. Drill down into job trends provides the ability to troubleshoot any problems in the environment.
Trending on the amount of data backed up, backup durations, occupancy (amount of backup data stored on
disk and tape) and media use will help pinpoint opportunities for policy modifications and savings in

How is Prism Lite sold?
Whereas Prism is sold on a per unit basis, Prism Lite is sold by license tier. The resulting price
points are significantly lower than equivalent unit counts for the full Prism product and enable customers

Can a Prism Lite customer upgrade to the full Prism platform ?
Yes, any customer that purchases Prism Lite will be able to upgrade to the full Prism platform in order
to realize the additional DPSM functionality including advanced problem management, SLA Management,
Policy and Change analysis and built in workflow. The data base from Prism Lite is fully transferable to Prism.
