Bocada Announces Unlimited Backup Application Support
New Plug-in Extends Breadth of Bocada Enterprise Data Collection and Reporting To Cover Any Backup Application
Bellevue, WA - February 24, 2009 - Bocada, Inc. the leader in heterogeneous backup reporting and data protection management, announced today the availability of a new plug-in for its Bocada Enterprise product that enables data collection from any backup application that allows job information to be extracted to a .csv file. Once the backup activity information is automatically imported to the Bocada Enterprise database, users can view a subset of reports including Success/Failure, Trending, SLA and Billing Reports. Full management functionality including the ability to create zones, automatically publish reports to users and schedule updates through the Bocada Enterprise Administrative Console is available.
Bocada developed the plug-in to address customer requests to report on legacy applications, desktop backup solutions and non-market leading applications. With this plug-in, Bocada Enterprise can now present reports from each of these different applications in a single consolidated view. In addition, all data associated with backup activity can be stored in a centralized database as opposed to multiple data sources scattered across the organization. Customers are currently implementing this new plug-in to view reports on DB2 and Sybase backup activities, NetBackup DLO, and SyncSort applications. The design of the plug-in also allows for collection from other data protection applications such as replications and snapshot technologies.
