BOCADA REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMERS WITH DATA PROTECTION MANAGEMENT “PATH TO EXCELLENCE”
Delivers Strategy Framework and Solutions to Further Drive Data Protection Operational Excellence
Bellevue, WA, February 26, 2007 - Bocada, Inc., the leading provider of data protection management (DPM) software, today announced its Data Protection Management Path to Excellence™ ( P2E™) framework, future additions to its Bocada Enterprise product line and a new certified partner program.
Developed together with leading enterprise customers, the Bocada DPM P2E™ is an actionable methodology that illustrates how the company's Bocada Enterprise platform is applied in a multi-phased approach to continuously advance the effectiveness of data protection operations. Customers that have embraced the P2E model have achieved substantial improvement in data protection processes leading to ensured data recoverability, improved services delivery, effective management of risk, successful audits, reduced costs and increased operational excellence.

Customer-Proven Phases of Bocada's DPM P2E
The P2E leverages the collective experience of Bocada's enterprise customers over the past four+ years, and draws upon their best practices using the Bocada Enterprise solution. The P2E model steers new and existing customers through the progressive stages and helps them incrementally demonstrate higher degrees of operational excellence. The P2E phases include:
- Assessment – the initial phase reveals the effectiveness of an organization's data protection environment, pinpoints and eliminates trouble spots and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Policy Development – refinement phase where policies and processes may be modified to better ensure success, recoverability and IT business alignment
- Services Delivery Management – the phase where an organization can accurately set information services management SLAs and effectively measure adherence and success rates
- Risk Management – the phase where organizations have the information needed to expose risk areas, identify unprotected assets and confidently pass compliance audits; and
- Operational Excellence – the phase reached by successfully standardizing on the processes developed in previous phases, which allows organizations to streamline operations, reduce total cost of ownership and increase IT's overall business contribution.
The DPM P2E is the foundation of the Bocada product and go to market strategy. Upcoming product enhancements and services designed to help customers fully utilize the Bocada Enterprise solution to achieve operational excellence will reflect the focus on customer enablement. Product enhancements will include Bocada Enterprise P2E Report Power Suites and Bocada Enterprise P2E Power Modules.

DPM P2ETM Certified Partner Program
In conjunction with delivering a process framework and products to customers, Bocada will launch a P2E certified partner program which identifies information services management companies that demonstrate P2Eenterprise-ready knowledge, customer service, and delivery in support of the Bocada platform. The P2E certified partner program will launch later this quarter.
DPM P2E framework consultations are available immediately; the Bocada Enterprise Report P2E Power Suites and Power Modules will roll out to customers throughout 2007, beginning in the second quarter.
