Bocada® Inc. Names Drake Pruitt as President and Chief Executive Officer,
Mark Silverman as Chairman of the Board of Directors
Bellevue, WA. - July 17 2006 - Bocada, Inc., the recognized leader in data protection management software, today announced the promotion of Drake Pruitt to the position of president and chief executive officer. Pruitt has been with Bocada for nearly five years in positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as a Bocada executive vice president. Mark Silverman, who has served as CEO and a board director for the past six years, will now serve as chairman of the company's board.

Since joining Bocada in 2001, Pruitt has held key leadership positions in channel and OEM development, corporate marketing and most recently as executive vice president of products. Pruitt is a high technology veteran with more than 15 years of leadership experience with software and services companies. Prior to Bocada, Pruitt served as vice president of sales and was a corporate officer during the successful initial public offering for aQuantive, Inc, the industry-leader in online digital media. Before aQuantive, Pruitt spent five years with Sprint Nextel, initially as part of the market launch team and ultimately serving as general manager in the Northwest. Pruitt began his career on Wall Street with Lehman Brothers, Inc, and Banc of America Securities, working with emerging technology companies and institutional investors on public equity and debt financings.
