Bocada Announces Support for Oracle® Recovery Manager
Addition of Oracle-based applications to BackupReport® simplifies enterprise application management, dramatically reduces risk of unseen failures
Bellevue,WA, September 29, 2005 – Bocada, Inc., leading provider of software for data protection management, today announced that Bocada’s award-winning BackupReport® software now provides support for Oracle Recovery Manager, providing the insight necessary to effectively and cost-efficiently manage backup and restore for Oracle®-based applications in multi-tiered, disk-to-disk, disk-to-disk to tape and backup disk-to-archive data protection infrastructures. Support for Oracle Recovery Manager is the first in a series of application-centric modules Bocada will announce over the next few months that further demonstrates the broad capabilities of BackupReport in providing key performance, planning and trouble-shooting management for tiered, application-centric backup and restore processes. Bocada already supports leading storage management applications from IBM, HP, StorageTek,Veritas, EMC/Legato, CA and others.
Bocada’s Oracle-based application-centric module takes advantage of Bocada’s industry-leading scalability and, like all Bocada modules, does not require the deployment or installation of any software agents to any application or backup server. In addition, Bocada’s customers running Oracle Recovery Manager will be able to take advantage of BackupReport’s key standard features such as automated service level agreement (SLA) validation, automated compliance verification,Web-based report access and distribution and role-based security controls. Additional modules to support Exchange, IBM DB2, SQL Server, SAP and other critical enterprise applications will be available shortly.
