Featuring Data Domain Reporting & Automated Backfill
Kirkland, WA – Bocada LLC, an award-winning backup reporting and monitoring solution has announced the general availability of version 10.5. In addition to several enhancements to the product’s core features, the release also includes Data Domain reporting and automated backfill.

Key new capabilities in this release include:
Data Domain Reporting Data Domain appliances can be added to Bocada through a plugin, and represent a new media type for users to monitor. Customers will have visibility into the total usage, capacity, and free space in addition to data compression ratios on their Data Domain installations. Additionally, customers will also be able to track replication job performance and include Data Domain as a media type to capture backup destination.
Automated Backfill Backup administrators can now prevent time-out issues with automated backfill capabilities. By configuring data collection by desired increments, metadata necessary for reporting can be pulled and stored in smaller groups, reducing manual re-start interventions.
Pause Schedule Functionality All running data collection can now be completed without initiating the next set of data collection to allow for smoother implementation of software hotfixes, upgrades or other planned events which can cause data collection failures.
Annotation Improvements Annotation windows can now be displayed per backup client for a desired range of time, independent of when the backup ran, allowing for easier troubleshooting and audit trails.
Synthetic Full Backup Job Reporting Now separate from full backups, synthetic full backups can be treated as a distinct backup category type.
Backup Activity Enhancements Backup details now offers a new column showing the 24-hour Backup Day, which can be configured by the user to their preferred starting time.
Plugin Enhancements To continue supporting a broad spectrum of data backup providers, we’ve made several backup server plugin updates covering ARCserve, Avamar, Backup Exec, CommVault, HP Data Protector, NetApp, NetBackup, NetWorker, Spectrum Protect (TSM), Vcenter, Veeam, and vRanger.
